How To Apply
Congratulations on your nomination to study as a Departmental Visiting Undergraduate Exchange Student at the University of Washington.

Application
The following documents are required in order to process your application:

Cover Sheet (requires Adobe Acrobat Reader)

International Exchange Application Form

Application fee of $50
Please check with your UW Department Exchange Coordinator to see if you are required to submit this fee. If you are, please submit a check or money order drawn on a U.S. bank, made payable to the University of Washington.

Official bank letter or statement verifying sufficient funds
Please see estimated cost of study.

Academic credentials
Please include official transcripts from each college, university, professional school, or technical school attended, with the English translations when necessary.

Verification of English Proficiency (if applicable)
TOEFL Requirement:
Undergraduates (Combined Total):
Paper Based Test (PBT) = 560
Computer Based Test (CBT) = 220
Internet Based Test (IBT) = 63 (Reading/Writing/Listening only)
Graduates:
Internet Based Test (IBT) = 70
(if applicable; please check with your home institution's requirement regarding English proficiency.)

Admissions Process
Once your file is complete, the Department Exchange Coordinator will forward your documents to the Admissions Office for final review. Please note: This review process may take several weeks to complete.
Upon a successful review, the Admissions Office will issue the visa qualifying form (I-20 or DS-2019) and send it to the Departmental Exchange Coordinator. The Department Exchange Coordinator will forward this form to your home institution. This form allows you to apply for an F-1 (I-20) or J-1 (DS-2019) visa at the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate.
