Université Paul Valéry Direct Exchange in MontpellierFrance

  • Terms:  Fall Semester, Spring Semester, Academic year
  • Eligibility:  Three years college-level French. Minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Instruction:  In French. Students attend one month of intensive French language courses followed by enrollment in regular UPV courses and courses for foreigners.
  • Subjects:  Full range of courses in the humanities and some social sciences available
  • Housing:  University accomodations or students arrange own housing with assistance from the University.
  • Cost:  Program fee and IPE fee. Please request a budget from the IPE office for total estimated costs.

CIEE Critical Studies Program in ParisFrance

  • Terms:  Fall or Spring semester, academic year
  • Eligibility:  Junior standing or above. Minimum 3.0 French GPA and minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. Completion of French 302.
  • Instruction:  In French. Students attend special courses arranged for the group and regular courses at the Université de Paris III.
  • Subjects:  Critical theory, literary theory, film history, film theory, French literature, contemporary philosophy, arts and aesthetics, feminism and gender studies
  • Housing:  Students are assisted in locating housing
  • Cost:  Program fee and IPE fee.
  • Application:  CIEE application: please submit to the IPE office
  • Application Deadline:  Fall semester, academic year-- February 1; Spring semester-- May 1. This program has a rolling admission. Students may apply any time before the deadline. Application may be accepted after the deadline on a space available basis.

Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po) Direct ExchangeFrance

  • Eligibility:  Junior standing or above. Minimum 3.4 GPA. Three years college-level French; coursework in economics, political science, international studies or business.
  • Instruction:  In French. Students attend the International Program in Political and Social Sciences with both international and French students.
  • Subjects:  History, contemporary French and comparative politics and economics
  • Housing:  Student arrange own housing with assistance from the Institute
